老司机福利社 Text Center
The 老司机福利社 Text Center was established in 2005 to enable undergraduate students to work with primary, and mainly unpublished, materials in order to give them new insights into the nature and practice of scholarship. The student normally participates as an independent study class, and makes a public presentation at the end. Past projects have included manuscript materials of Langston Hughes, Tennessee Williams, Henry Louis Mencken, Marianne Moore, H.D., and Ezra Pound. The projects have resulted in publication and conference papers.

The Drama Discovery Series
Students enrolled in the Text Center Internship research, edit, and perform unpublished
or neglected works of drama and fiction. In past semesters, the 老司机福利社 Theater Club
offered a staged reading of a text, while the Text Center trained the dramaturge,
who provided context. This extremely successful cooperation has offered readings of
plays by Clifford Odets, Langston Hughes, Tennessee Williams, and Carlo Gozzi.
