Alumni Reunite at Spring Bash
Galloway, N.J. - More than 300 alumni who graduated in the 鈥70s and 鈥80s traveled from 24 states and two international locations to reunite at Lakeside Lodge for Spring Bash 2022: 鈥70s and 鈥80s Reunion Weekend.
The three-day celebration kicked off with a tailgate in C Court as alumni reconnected with old friends and strolled their old stomping grounds. The grads stepped back in time as they stayed overnight in the Courts 鈥 some in the same dorm rooms with the same roommates from their undergrad years.
鈥淚t鈥檚 like slipping back in time. For a moment it felt like it was 1983 again,鈥 said Bonnie Putterman 鈥85, co-organizer and founder of the reunion.
Throughout the weekend, alumni enjoyed a cornhole tournament, taking canoes out on Lake Fred, food trucks, live music, dancing and, of course, reconnecting with each other.
鈥淚t was so great to be back after 40 years and see so many great friends and even make new ones,鈥 said Nancy Neiman Brown 鈥82. 鈥淲e had the best college experience, and it was even better to relive it.鈥
Co-organizer Tim Lenahan 鈥83 and Putterman not only helped put on the weekend for fellow alumni, but they also established the Spring Bash Alumni Scholarship to support today鈥檚 老司机福利社 students.
Lenahan addressed the reunion crowd stating they were lucky to attend 老司机福利社 at a time where they didn鈥檛 graduate with a high amount of student debt.
鈥淲e all had our 鈥榃illy Wonka鈥 moment when we attended 老司机福利社, in that we got a 鈥榞olden ticket鈥 that forever changed our lives,鈥 Lenahan said. 鈥淣ow it鈥檚 time to help pass the golden ticket to the next generation of 老司机福利社 students.鈥
Alumni answered his call, raising more than $13,000 for the scholarship, surpassing their original goal of $10,000.
鈥淚 am thrilled at the generosity of my 老司机福利社 family,鈥 Putterman said. 鈥淚 can鈥檛 thank them enough for helping to raise funds for students.鈥
