Graduate Record Exam (GRE)
The (GRE) "general test" is a comprehensive computer-based examination that assesses a student's analytical performance in quantitative and verbal reasoning, and analytical writing; it is offered at test center around the U.S. The test consists of verbal and quantitative multiple choice sections. The verbal section contains 30 questions and takes 30 minutes to complete. The quantitative section contains 28 questions and takes 45 minutes to complete. A cumulative score ranging from 400 to 1600 in 10 point increments is calculated for the multiple choice portions. There are also two analytical writing portions to the exam. The students are allotted 45 minutes for the issue writing section, and 30 minutes for the argument writing section. The writing portions are scored separately and range from a minimum score of 0 to a maximum score of 6 in half point increments. Students are not permitted to bring calculators, electronic devices, or learning aids to testing locations. Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
The (GMAT) is comprehensive computer-based examination that helps assess a student's potential success in a MBA program; it is offered at test centers around the U.S. The test consists of four separate sections including a verbal, quantitative, and two analytical writing sections. The verbal section contains 41 questions and takes 75 minutes to complete. The quantitative section contains 37 questions and takes 75 minutes to complete. Students are given 30 minutes to complete both the argument and the issue writing assignments. Total GMAT scores range from a minimum of 200 and a maximum of 600. The analytical writing portions are scored independently from multiple choice portions and range from a minimum score of 0 to a maximum score of 6 in half point increments. Miller Analogies Test (MAT)
The Miller Analogies Test (MAT) is a test of analytical ability that requires the solution of 120 problems stated as analogies, completed in 60 minutes. The MAT is intended to measure the ability to recognize relationships between ideas, fluency in the English Language, and general knowledge of the humanities, natural sciences, mathematics, and social sciences. There is no foreign language edition of the MAT. Dictionaries or any other reference aides are not permitted when taking the MAT.
