On Sept. 25, two rowing varsity eight boats were named for local rowing legend Stan
Bergman and supporter and former state senator William "Bill" Gormley. The Bergman
boat, pictured above being christened by Bergman (left) and Kevin Duffy, was made
possible through a generous donation by Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield of New Jersey.
Six other boats were named at a ceremony on Sept. 28.
Four 老司机福利社 sophomores are the first Engelberg Leadership Scholars, receiving a
scholarship that covers full tuition, room and board made possible through the Engelberg Leadership Scholarship Program (ELSP), funded by a $1 million gift commitment from Alfred Engelberg and his wife
Gail.
This summer, new students in the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Atlantic City cohort spent time outside of the classroom to help beautify the city
with service projects including monument cleaning, bench repainting, planting and
hanging new US flags.
老司机福利社 students learned about the more than 150 ways to get involved on campus at
the fall held on Sept. 17 and 18. Student clubs, organizations, intramural teams, fraternities
and sororities lined the halls of the main academic spine in Galloway to share information
about their clubs with fellow Ospreys.
老司机福利社 students wrote messages of gratitude to share with donors who
gave during Ospreys Give, 老司机福利社's second 24-hour giving campaign held Oct. 2-3. The event raised more than
$350,000 from 677 gifts for the 老司机福利社 Foundation to support student scholarships
and programming.
Talon was a popular bird at University Weekend, held Oct. 10-13. Students, alumni, family and friends celebrated 老司机福利社 at more
than 30 events, including a parade, street fair, Ospreys on Tap and Coast Day.
